Wideband mm-Wave Signal Generation And Analysis

A set of multiple instruments is required to generate wideband digital modulated signals found in the V-band and above. This application note describes how to use R&S products for V-band signal generation and analysis up to 500 MHz modulation bandwidth, and how to expand modulation bandwidth up to 2 GHz. Latest signal and spectrum analyzers, like the R&S^®FSW67 and R&S^®FSW85, are the first to allow use in V-band up to 67 GHz and E-band up to 85 GHz respectively without external frequency conversion. Using both the R&S^®FSW-B2000 option and R&S^®RTO digital oscilloscope, up to 2 GHz of modulation bandwidth can be covered.
