Solid State High Power Amplifier: AMP20191 Datasheet

The AMP20191 Solid-State High-Power Pulse Amplifier is purpose-built for demanding EMI/RFI, HIRF, and laboratory environments requiring exceptional pulse performance in a compact, rack-mounted form factor. Engineered with advanced Class A/AB linear GaN technology, the amplifier delivers instantaneous S-Band coverage from 2.0 to 4.0 GHz, ensuring clean, reliable power across a range of mission-critical applications.

Designed for high-peak pulsed operation, the AMP20191 provides a minimum of 10 kW peak pulse power, with typical output reaching 12 kW. It supports flexible input pulse parameters—including widths up to 150 µs, duty cycles up to 10%, and PRFs as high as 100 kHz—while maintaining fast <50 ns rise and fall times and less than 1 dB pulse droop. With a minimum gain of 70 dB and 20 dB of adjustable gain control, users can easily tailor performance for precise test conditions.

The amplifier incorporates extensive built-in protection, including input overpower protection, load VSWR foldback, and comprehensive system monitoring. An intuitive local LCD interface and multiple remote-control pathways enhance operational flexibility across automated test setups. Harmonics and spurious levels are tightly controlled, ensuring clean output even at maximum rated performance.

Operating from a 120/208 VAC or optional 220 VAC three-phase source, the AMP20191 delivers up to 15 kW average power consumption at 10% duty, supported by a high-efficiency architecture designed for long-term rugged reliability. Optional sampling ports and configurable interfaces further expand its integration capabilities, making the AMP20191 a versatile, robust solution for high-power pulsed RF environments.
