Solid State High Power Amplifier: AMP20160 Datasheet

The AMP20160 is a high-power, rack-mounted amplifier designed for EMI/RFI testing, laboratory use, and general communication applications.

It features a compact 13U form factor with a Class A/AB linear design using advanced high-power devices. Operating across an ultra-wide bandwidth of 1.0 to 6.0 GHz, it delivers a minimum of 750W CW or pulse power at saturation and 400W minimum at P1dB.

Electrical specifications include a minimum power gain of 59 dB, a 20 dB adjustable gain range, and low intermodulation distortion (-30 dBc typical). It maintains harmonics at -20 dBc and spurious emissions below -60 dBc. The amplifier runs on 180-240VAC three-phase power with a maximum consumption of 6.0 kW. Protection features include input power protection up to +10 dBm, load VSWR protection up to 4:1, and automatic foldback mechanisms to prevent damage.

Environmental specifications allow operation from 0 to +50°C, storage from -40 to +85°C, and functionality at altitudes up to 3000 meters. It is designed to endure standard transport shock and vibration, with MIL-Spec compliance available. A built-in air-liquid cooling system ensures efficient heat dissipation.

Optional digital monitoring and control (DMC) provide remote operation via Ethernet, RS422/485, USB, and GPIB interfaces. Safety interlock and IEEE rear panel connectivity further enhance usability. This amplifier offers high efficiency, reliability, and rugged performance, making it an ideal solution for demanding RF applications.
