2.0 - 18.0 GHz, 1 Watt Solid State Medium Power Amplifier: MPA2003

The MPA2003 is a high-performance, rack-mounted solid-state power amplifier designed for applications requiring a wide operating frequency range and significant output power.

It employs a Class AB linear GaAs hybrid design, providing excellent linearity and low distortion. The amplifier offers instantaneous wide bandwidth, making it suitable for all single channel modulation standards. Built-in protection circuits safeguard the amplifier from excessive input power and load mismatches, ensuring high reliability and ruggedness.

The MPA2003 operates from 2.0 to 18.0 GHz, delivering a minimum CW output power of 1.0 watt at saturation. It exhibits a typical power gain of 30 dB with a maximum power gain flatness of 4.0 dB peak-to-peak. The amplifier provides a minimum input return loss of 10 dB, ensuring efficient power transfer from the source. The two-tone intermodulation (IMD) performance is typically -30 dBc at 20 dBm/tone and a frequency offset of 1 MHz. Harmonics are suppressed to -20 dBc or better at rated output power, and spurious emissions are typically below -60 dBc.

The MPA2003 operates from a universal AC input voltage of 100-240 VAC and consumes a maximum power of 25 watts at rated output power. The amplifier incorporates robust protection circuitry, including overload protection for excessive input power and load VSWR protection. This ensures reliable operation even under challenging conditions.
