80 - 1000 MHz, 750 Watt Solid State High Power Amplifier: AMP20084 Datasheet
The AMP20084 is a high-power, solid-state RF amplifier designed for a wide range of applications including EMI/RFI testing, laboratory experiments, continuous wave (CW) and pulsed communication. This amplifier operates over an ultra-wide frequency range of 80 to 1000 MHz, delivering a minimum of 750 watts (typical 1kW from 80 to 500 MHz) at saturation, with a typical output of 600 watts at 1 dB compression point (P1dB).
Built with a Class A/AB linear design and advanced technology power devices, the AMP20084 ensures exceptional performance, efficiency, and durability. It features a compact 5U rack-mount form factor and supports both local control via an LCD panel and remote operation through flexible interface options. With a minimum gain of 60 dB, 20 dB gain adjustment range, and gain flatness within 3.0 dB peak-to-peak, it delivers consistent amplification across its full bandwidth.
The unit includes comprehensive protection features such as input power protection, load VSWR protection with automatic foldback, and built-in monitoring systems. Optional sample ports and digital monitor/control systems enhance flexibility and user control. Additional specifications include a typical noise figure of 10 dB, harmonics suppressed to -20 dBc, and non-harmonic spurious emissions at -60 dBc max.
Environmentally, the amplifier is rated for operation between 0°C and +50°C, and storage between -40°C and +85°C. It can withstand up to 95% relative humidity and altitudes up to 3000 meters. With robust construction, a maximum weight of 40 kg, and integrated cooling, the AMP20084 delivers reliable, high-performance RF amplification.
