9.0 - 10.0 GHz, 1000 Watt Solid State High Power Amplifier: AMP60020 Datasheet

This high-performance X-Band pulsed amplifier system is engineered for mission-critical airborne, phased-array radar, and secure communications applications requiring exceptional peak power, fast pulse fidelity, and rugged reliability.

Operating across the 9.0 to 10.0 GHz band, the system delivers a minimum 1 kW peak output power with 60 dB minimum gain, providing robust headroom for demanding pulse radar and electronic warfare system architectures.

Featuring an advanced Class A/AB GaN design, the amplifier ensures outstanding efficiency, excellent linearity, and reliable performance under dynamic load conditions. Pulse parameters support widths up to 100 µs, 10% duty cycle, and PRF up to 500 kHz, with a fast 60 ns typical rise/fall time and less than 0.8 dB pulse droop, enabling accurate waveform reproduction and high-speed system response.

A comprehensive protection suite enhances durability and mission dependability, including input overpower protection to +5 dBm, infinite-VSWR tolerance with foldback, and optional sample port monitoring at –50 dB. Harmonics and spurious content are tightly controlled at −35 dBc typical and −60 dBc maximum, ensuring clean spectral output suitable for defense-grade environments.

Designed for operational flexibility, the compact rack-mount system supports local LCD control along with multiple remote interface options for seamless integration into modern test benches or embedded RF platforms. Operating from a universal 100–240 VAC supply, the amplifier maintains high efficiency and consumes up to 1500 W at rated power and duty cycle.

Built for harsh deployment conditions, the system supports 0 to +50 °C operation, high-humidity environments, and standard airborne vibration profiles, making it a reliable choice for advanced radar, avionics, and communication missions.
