8.0 12.0 GHz, 50 Watt Solid State High Power Amplifier: AMP40004 Datasheet
This standard rack-mounted amplifier features a Class AB linear GaN hybrid design, delivering full X-Band instantaneous bandwidth from 8 to 12 GHz. It provides a minimum 50 W CW output with 47 dB gain and ±3 dB flatness, supporting all single-channel modulation standards. Built-in protection circuits ensure high reliability and ruggedness in demanding environments.
The unit exhibits excellent linearity with –30 dBc two-tone intermodulation (IMD) at 37 dBm per tone (Δ = 1 MHz), harmonics below –25 dBc, and spurious signals under –60 dBc. Input/output return loss exceeds 10 dB, while load VSWR protection accommodates 5:1 mismatch for up to one minute at rated power. Input power protection safeguards against transient overdrive (+8 dBm max for <10 s).
Designed for flexibility, the amplifier operates on 100–240 VAC, consuming up to 400 W, and maintains performance across ambient temperatures from 0 to +50 °C and relative humidity of 5–95% non-condensing. Storage tolerance spans –40 to +85 °C.
Mechanically, the unit is a 3U rack-mount format (430 × 560 × 133 mm) weighing 20 kg, with Type-N female RF connectors and IEC power input. Built-in variable-speed fan cooling ensures thermal management. Optional digital monitoring and control capabilities allow remote measurement of forward/reverse power, VSWR, gain, ALC, voltage/current, and temperature via Ethernet (TCP/IP), RS422/485, GPIB, or Bluetooth.
Ideal for X-Band communication, radar testing, and signal simulation applications, this amplifier combines rugged reliability, wide bandwidth, and precise linear performance, offering engineers a versatile solution for demanding RF systems.
