0.5 - 18 GHz, 20 Watt Solid State High Power Amplifier: AMP20121 Datasheet
This compact, rack-mounted amplifier is designed for EMI/RFI, lab, CW/Pulse, and all communication applications. Featuring Class A/AB linear design and high-power advanced technology, it delivers instantaneous ultra-wide bandwidth with built-in protection circuits and extensive monitoring. Local LCD and flexible remote interfaces provide operational oversight.
The system operates across two frequency bands (0.5–6 GHz and 6–18 GHz) with rapid band switching in 15 ms. It delivers up to 20 W saturated power in Band A and 10 W in Band B, with 43 dB gain and ±4–6 dB flatness. Harmonics remain below –20 dBc and spurious signals under –60 dBc. Two-tone IMD is typically –30 dBc, and input/output return loss exceeds –10 dB. Input power protection supports transient overdrive up to +3 dBm, and load VSWR protection accommodates 5:1 mismatches with foldback limits.
The amplifier operates on 100–240 VAC (47–63 Hz), consuming up to 300 W, and maintains reliability across 0–50 °C ambient temperatures, 5–95% relative humidity, and altitudes up to 3000 m. Storage temperature ranges from –40 to +85 °C.
Mechanically, the unit is a 3U rack-mount (430 × 133 × 560 mm) weighing 12 kg, with Type-N RF connectors and IEC power input. Built-in variable-speed fan cooling ensures thermal management. Optional Digital Monitor & Control (DMC) enables remote monitoring of forward/reverse power, VSWR, gain, ALC, voltage/current, and temperature via Ethernet, RS422/485, USB, or GPIB. Optional safety interlock ensures operational safety.
Ideal for lab, communication, and test environments, this amplifier combines high efficiency, ruggedness, and reliability, delivering precise performance in a versatile, easy-to-integrate package.
