6.0 - 18.0 GHz, 400 W Solid State High Power Amplifier: AMP20178
Spanning an instantaneous 6.0–18.0 GHz bandwidth, this high-power microwave amplifier is engineered for demanding EMI/RFI testing, laboratory validation, and CW or pulsed communication applications.
Its Class A/AB linear design, paired with advanced high-power devices, delivers outstanding performance, spectral purity, and operational stability across the full frequency range. Housed in a compact rack-mounted system, it combines wideband capability with rugged construction for reliable deployment in both lab and production environments.
The amplifier provides 400 W typical output at Psat (CW or pulse) and 200 W minimum at P1dB, supported by 55 dB minimum gain with 0 dBm or less input required for rated output. Gain flatness of 5 dB p-p maximum ensures consistent performance across the band, while a minimum 20 dB gain adjustment range—accessible locally or remotely—allows flexible level control and system integration. Linearity is maintained with typical two-tone IMD of -30 dBc (44 dBm/tone, 1 MHz spacing), harmonics limited to -20 dBc maximum, and non-harmonic spurious signals suppressed to -60 dBc maximum.
Designed for high-power operation, the unit runs on 120/208 VAC three-phase power (47–63 Hz), with 230/400 VAC options available, and consumes approximately 5000 W at rated output. Comprehensive protection features—including +5 dBm maximum input protection, 4:1 load VSWR protection, and foldback at preset limits—safeguard both the amplifier and connected equipment. A local LCD display and flexible remote interfaces enable intuitive control and monitoring, while an optional -50 dB N-Female sample port supports convenient signal sampling for measurement and system verification.
