Z-Communications, Inc. Introduces New High-Performance 15 GHz Surface Mount Voltage-Controlled Oscillator
Z-Communications, Inc. announces the release of the DRO15000A, a high-performance DRO based Voltage-Controlled Oscillator (VCO) engineered in a surface mount module for demanding applications. The DRO15000A delivers an oscillation frequency of 15 GHz while combining low phase noise, stable power output, and exceptiomnal harmonic suppression within a compact, reliable, surface mount package.
The DRO15000A operates at a fixed center frequency of 15 GHz with a tuning voltage range of 0 to 12 Vdc and an average tuning sensitivity of 2 MHz/V. Optimized for exceptional phase noise performance of -96 dBc/Hz typical at a 10 kHz offset, and low harmonics of -30dBc.
Engineered to operate reliably in harsh environmental conditions, the DRO15000A spans an industrial operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The device provides a typical power output of +2 dBm into a 50 Ω load while maintaining highly efficient power consumption of 130mW. It features low pulling of only 1 MHz (at 12 dB Return Loss, any phase) and a pushing of 1 MHz/V.
The oscillator is housed in an advanced SDRO package style and operates off a nominal 5 Vdc supply voltage, drawing a typical supply current of just 26 mA. The entire module is RoHS compliant, meeting modern global environmental and production standards.
The DRO15000A is production and available for immediate evaluation and recommended for new designs. For more information regarding pricing, engineering footprint samples, or custom design variations for other frequencies, please contact the Z-Communications applications engineering team.
