XO5503 - 100MHz OCXO Datasheet
The XO5503 is a 100.000 MHz oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) delivering exceptional frequency stability and phase noise performance for demanding timing and reference applications. Operating from a 12V supply, it produces a sinewave output of +7.0 dBm typical into a 50Ω load, with harmonics suppressed to –30 dBc.
Frequency stability is tightly controlled across multiple variables. Temperature variation from –40°C to +85°C causes no more than ±100 ppb of frequency deviation, while supply voltage and load changes of ±5% each contribute no more than ±15 ppb. First-year aging is held within ±250 ppb, improving to ±200 ppb per year thereafter. External voltage tuning over 0–5 VDC provides a ±2.5 ppm adjustment range with a positive tuning slope.
Phase noise performance is a standout characteristic. Under static conditions, the oscillator achieves –150 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset and –165 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset. A key differentiator is the built-in electronic vibration compensation: under random vibration, phase noise remains nearly identical to static performance across most offsets, with only a modest degradation to –153 dBc/Hz at 2 kHz offset. G-sensitivity is rated at just 0.02 ppb/g.
Power consumption is 5 watts at startup, settling to 2 watts at steady state. The compact package measures approximately 1.99 × 1.49 inches, connects via SMA female RF output, and is fully RoHS compliant, making it well suited for aerospace, defense, and precision instrumentation platforms.
