Würth Electronics' WE-EPLE USB 2.0 Jack With Integrated EMC Filter And ESD Protection Now At Mouser

WE-EPLE USB

Mouser Electronics, Inc., the global authorized distributor with the newest semiconductors and electronic components, is now stocking the WE-EPLE USB 2.0 Jack with Integrated EMC Filter from Würth Electronics. Marketed as one of the industry's first integrated, high-speed USB 2.0 jacks that includes a combination EMI and ESD filter, the WE-EPLE provides up to 15kV of ESD protection and is fully compatible with standard THT USB 2.0 jacks. This jack offers developers a drop-in replacement for existing USB 2.0 connectors, reducing EMI noise while shrinking PCB size without a costly redesign.

The Würth Electronics WE-EPLE USB 2.0 Jack with Integrated EMC Filter, available from Mouser Electronics, is pad-compatible with conventional USB jacks, allowing overall design dimensions to stay the same. This enables developers to transform existing designs into EMC- compatible systems in very little time. The integrated EMC filter eliminates broadband interference on voltage and signal lines, and is almost invisible for the signal lines. Offering some of the best noise filtering, Würth has used its deep knowledge of magnetics to provide the WE-EPLE with all the necessary components to control noise, including a data line filters as well as a filter for VDD. For ESD protection, the WE-EPLE complies with most ESD specifications, including IEC61000-4-2, IEC61000-4-3, and IEC61000-4-5.

Other key benefits and features of Würth's WE-EPLE USB 2.0 Jack with Integrated EMC Filter include Vcc filter impedance above 100Ω in the 20MHz range; common-mode suppression at 240MHz far in excess of 250Ω; and ESD suppression at levels of 10V at 15kV pulses.

The Würth Electronics' WE-EPLE USB 2.0 Jack with Integrated EMC Filter is available today through Mouser Electronics as a single port, four-contact female connector, with phosphor bronze contacts and gold plating. The WE-EPLE has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, is UL 94 V-0 rated for flammability, and is well-suited for commercial and industrial USB applications.
