Wideband Signal Generator: SSG-44G-RC Datasheet

Source: Mini-Circuits

The Mini-Circuits SSG-44G-RC is a high-performance signal generator designed for millimeter-wave applications, operating from 100 MHz to 44 GHz with output power up to +14 dBm at 44 GHz. Ideal for testing and characterizing millimeter-wave components and systems, it offers CW (continuous wave) and pulsed outputs with pulse widths down to 0.5 µs. This flexibility allows users to configure single-tone outputs, pulse sequences, or even automated frequency, power sweep, and hop sequences.

The SSG-44G-RC is known for its compact form factor and robust automation capabilities, making it a cost-effective solution for both bench and production test applications. Despite its size, it delivers exceptional performance, including low phase noise (-105 dBc at a 100 kHz offset) and excellent harmonic rejection (-30 dBc typical), ensuring high-quality and reliable signal generation up to 44 GHz.

The generator can be controlled via USB or Ethernet, supporting SSH, HTTP, and Telnet protocols, and it comes with full software support. This includes a user-friendly GUI for Windows, as well as a flexible API and programming instructions for both Windows and Linux environments. The system also features a daisy-chain control interface with dynamic addressing, enabling multiple units to be combined into a multi-channel signal source, all controlled through a single software interface. This makes the SSG-44G-RC an ideal choice for automated and multi-unit testing, offering a reliable, repeatable signal source for a wide range of applications.
