SyChip Introduces Lowest Power Wireless ZigBee Sensor Node
SyChip, Inc., a leader in Radio Frequency Chip Scale Modules (CSM) and a subsidiary of Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd., recently announced the introduction of their SyNode wireless sensor node (SN3010). The SN3010 is the lowest-power, fully complaint ZigBee sensor node on the market. The SN3010 facilitates reliable, energy-saving wireless networking applications and includes the complete ZigBee Pro protocol stack supporting the ZigBee Smart Energy and Home Automation profiles.
The SN3010 is a complete ZigBee endpoint sensor node with integrated temperature, humidity, and light sensors. Using SyChip's power-management protocol with one transmission per minute, these sensor nodes can last up to 15 years using two AA batteries. The SN 3010 measures 729 mm² (1.13 square inches), and offers best-in-class ZigBee RF receiver sensitivity at -99dBm. It can be used as a stand-alone sensor node or integrated with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) products.
"SyChip's leadership in the integration of small, high-performance wireless modules and sensing capabilities combined with full software support enables us to be at the forefront of the emerging applications of wireless sensors," said Dr. Moses Asom President and Co-founder of SyChip Inc. "With SyNode's compact size, best-in-class radio performance, and low power consumption, end users now have a plug-n-play sensor node that can be used for remote temperature, humidity, and light monitoring in a home, office, or datacenter environment."
The SN3010 is currently sampling and are priced between $16 and $32 in low volumes. For
