Sunnyverse Selects Anritsu WLAN And Bluetooth Measurement Solutions To Evaluate RF Performance Of XR Devices

AR and VR Device Performance Verified With Wireless Connectivity Test Set MT8862A and Bluetooth Test Set MT8852B

Anritsu Company announces that Zhejiang Sunnyverse Technology Co., Ltd., a developer of Extended Reality (XR) devices, has selected Anritsu test solutions to evaluate the WLAN and Bluetooth RF TRx performance of their AR and VR devices. Sunnyverse is using the Anritsu Wireless Connectivity Test Set MT8862A (WLAN Tester) and Bluetooth Test Set MT8852B to reduce test time by allowing the setting of concise parameters, thereby reducing time to market for Sunnyverse products.

The Wireless Connectivity Test Set MT8862A supports measurements of RF TRx characteristics of WLAN IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz) devices. It conducts 2x2 MIMO Rx sensitivity and Tx power measurement functions. Qualified by Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) for RF measurements, the Bluetooth Test Set MT8852B supports 2 Mbps Low-Energy PHY (2LE) and Bluetooth Long-Range (BLR) tests (optional).

The XR device market, which includes AR and VR, is set to experience rapid growth as these devices are expected to be used in many applications. XR devices require fast data transfer speeds and low latency of the video data to create an enjoyable user experience. Therefore, Sunnyverse was looking for a test solution to evaluate the RF TRx performance of the WLAN and Bluetooth technologies that affect data transfer of their XR devices.

In addition to using WLAN and Bluetooth for communication, XR devices will utilize 5G to leverage the technology’s low latency and high bandwidth. Anritsu will provide WLAN, Bluetooth, and 5G test solutions for the XR market to help expand the use of XR devices.

Development Background
The release of Wi-Fi 7 support in the MT8862A addresses the market need to measure Wi-Fi 7 product designs now underway, such as ultra-high-definition video streaming and AR/VR. The MT8862A enables RF evaluation at all data rates of the major WLAN standards via the per-data-rate signal control technology. With the enhanced capability, the MT8862A can measure WLAN-equipped devices under real-world operating conditions, including Wi-Fi 7 2x2 MIMO, which requires two antennas for each of the transmitter and receiver.
