Wireless connectivity is becoming a required feature in many of todays embedded system designs. Even the simplest sensor can benefit from the ability to send its data to a location that cannot be physically connected by wire to the sensor. Today there are a growing number of high-end solutions that take advantage of the 802.11b, or Bluetooth standard, for high speed networking applications. However, many system designers find that their products do not need, or cannot support, the complexity involved in these high speed, high end, solutions.
