Datasheet: Model VC40 — High Frequency VCXO Oscillators

Source: Wi2Wi LLC

Precision Devices, Inc., announces a new surface-mounted voltage-controlled crystal oscillators that combines high frequency, compact size and exceptionally high quality. The new VC40 oscillator is the latest in a full line of VCXO and TCXO products from PDI using fundamental mode crystal technology to enhance the frequency response in a wide variety of applications. According to PDI, the new VC40 is ideally suited for cell phone base stations, ISDN and other high-speed data applications, portable instrumentation, synthesizers, SONET and phase locked loops. The new VC40 oscillator is easy to install due to its SMD configuration and small size. At only 14.0mm x 9.7mm x 6.0mm the new VC40 fits virtually any size circuit board. The company states that this new product is also cost effective, offering high quality at an affordable price. Using a fundamental mode AT cut crystal with a center frequency of 8.0MHz to 180.0MHz, the new VC40 oscillator produces less jitter and phase noise than VCXO products using lower quality crystals. The new VC40 also offers exceptional frequency stability. Frequency pull is +/- 100ppm Min. The operating temperature range is -40° to +85°C or 0° to +70°C. Available outputs for the VC40 are ACMOS, HCMOS, and PECL. Many pullability options are available for this new product and higher frequencies are in development, including 622.0MHz. Stratum III oscillators are available in this package from 10.0MHz to 60.0MHz.
Frequency Range: 10.0MHz - 60.0MHz
