REMEC multipliers and comb generators are used in applications where high spectral purity is a prime consideration. Typical applications include local oscillator multiplier chains, direct frequency synthesizers, built-in test/calibration capability, and generation of phase-locked system reference frequencies. Multipliers and comb generators have been supplied to commercial, military, and space programs.

REMEC multiplier designs are tailored to fit the application:

  • SRD multipliers are used for high multiplication ratios
  • Schottky diode multipliers are used for narrow or broadband, low phase noise applications
  • Microwave bipolar transistors are used for high efficiency, low order multipliers below 10 GHz
  • GaAs FETs are used for low-order multipliers above 10 GHz.
