Sanders Lands $30 Million AN/ALQ-144A Contract

Nashua, NH-based Sanders, a Lockheed Martin company, has been awarded an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract by the US Army Communications and Electronics Command (CECOM) for its AN/ALQ-144A(V)1/3/5 Countermeasures Set with a not-to-exceed value of $30.0 million.

The initial phase of the firm-fixed-price contract calls for 133 units with a value of $4.8 million. Other units will be provided during the rest of the contract, which runs through February 2002.

The AN/ALQ-144A(V) Countermeasures Set provides comprehensive protection against a wide spectrum of infrared missile threats against helicopters. The systems are on both helicopters and fixed wing aircraft for Department of Defense (DoD) components and many foreign countries.

This contract is in response to both DoD and foreign military requirements. The contract has a potential of adding 400 systems to the more than 5,000 ALQ-144A(V) systems that are already deployed worldwide.

The contract also includes provisions for additional AN/ALM-178A Test Sets, used with the AN/ALQ-144A(V)1/3/5, engineering support, open and closed loop simulation, aircraft installation, training, spares, and repair services to the customers.
