Source: RS Microwave Company, Inc.
RS Microwave Company, Inc. was founded in January 1981 specializing in the design and manufacture of high quality RF and Microwave filters. The use of evanescent modes of propagation, offering a good combination of size and insertion loss, has been developed at RS to the point of application with arbitrary transfer functions, bandwidths of 1% to 80% and from 200 MHz to 50 GHz. The Company has also developed unique lumped element networks with symmetrical response, dielectric resonator designs (1 MHz bandwidth with a center frequency of 8 GHz!), compact high power, low-loss notch filters, the smallest possible multiplexers, blind-mate filters (as small as drop-in designs) for high isolation applications, Bessel-Thompson world standard filters (the OR series) for use in optical communication systems, and a host of other unique products for system application.

RS is the major supplier of filters for the world-wide JTIDS/MIDS program, a high power spread spectrum military communication link which interfaces with TACAN, IFF, and other navigation and communication systems. RS has been and/or continues to be a major supplier on JTIDS, ASPJ, ALQ-172, LAMPS, ALR67 (ASR), Rapport III, SLQ32, GPN, SPS- 48, GBR, AMRAAM, SM-2, AEGIS, etc. Customers include most of the major manufacturers in the world of the aforementioned systems. The Company is approved to the U.S. MIL-I-45208 Inspection System and all assembly and test is performed in accordance with MIL-STD-2000 or 2000A, with qualification to ISO9000 in process. Environmental testing is performed on the majority of products. RS filters and multiplexers are on many of the U.S. government QPL or NSN lists as standard approved items. The Company's filter products have been under the sea, on the ground, in tanks, in fighters, bombers, missiles, and satellites. In the U.S., RS Microwave filters are considered "best of breed" in small size or high power.
