Rheinmetall Selects Radiocrafts Technology For Battlefield Sensing System
Rheinmetall AG has selected Radiocrafts’ resilient mesh networking technology for its next-generation distributed battlefield sensing system, reinforcing the growing importance of secure, infrastructure-independent communications in modern defence operations.
Radiocrafts AS, a leading provider of RF modules and wireless connectivity solutions, announced today that Rheinmetall AG, one of Europe's leading defence companies and a major supplier to NATO member nations, has selected Radiocrafts as a supplier of mesh networking radio technology for integration into its next-generation battlefield sensing system. The selection validates Radiocrafts' low-power wireless networking architecture for reliable communications in contested and infrastructure-denied environments.
The collaboration reflects the growing shift toward distributed and networked military operations, where sensors, autonomous systems, decision-support tools, and effectors must exchange data reliably across dynamic and contested environments.
Radiocrafts' mesh networking technology enables devices to automatically establish resilient communications pathways without relying on fixed infrastructure, providing scalable networking solutions capable of connecting large numbers of battlefield assets.
"This selection by a leading European defence prime is a strong endorsement of our technology and validates our strategic focus on advanced radio protocols for challenging RF environments," said Peder Martin Evjen, Managing Director of Radiocrafts. "Our radio modules are manufactured in Europe, providing customers with greater supply-chain confidence. Combined with our long track record of delivering high-volume products to demanding industries such as smart metering, this demonstrates our ability to meet the demanding quality, reliability, and supply-chain requirements of the defence sector.”
Florian Stechmann, Project Lead at Rheinmetall AG, commented: “Working with Radiocrafts, we get access to innovative wireless technology that was easy to integrate into our product using their pre-certified modules. Radiocrafts combines excellent technical expertise with responsive support, enabling us to integrate the technology within a very short timeframe.”
