RFMW Introduces DVGA Solutions From TriQuint Semiconductors

RFMW , Ltd. announces design and sales support for the TQM879008 digital variable gain amplifier (DVGA) adding to a series of high performance, pin compatible DVGAs spanning the frequency range of 600 to 2700MHz. The TQM879008 offers 41dB of gain with a P1dB of over ½ W. Incorporating a 6-bit, 0.5dB LSB attenuator, integrated matching components, bias chokes, bypass and blocking capacitors into a QFN 6x6mm package provides a fully integrated, 50 ohm module that reduces design complexity and PCB space requirements. DVGAs are ideal for base station TRx applications following the IQ modulator where large gain range control is critical. A SPI interface simplifies control in BTS wireless infrastructure, repeaters, transmit amplifier modules and point-to-point IF chains.

The current DVGA series is comprised of three complementary models that are pin compatible for design flexibility:
The TQM879008 covers 1.5-2.7GHz with 27dBm P1dB output.
The TQM829007 covers 0.6-1.0GHz with 24dBm P1dB output.
The TQM879006 covers 1.7-2.7GHz, with 25dBm P1dB output.
