An RF channel emulator, the TAS 4500 FLEX5, is a 26-MHz bandwidth system, optimized for wide bandwidth applications and for testing third generation (3G) wireless communications platforms. The device features capabilities including Dynamic Environment Evaluation (DEE), which allows time-varying emulation of real world channel conditions in the lab.
The integrated, modular architecture of the device covers a wide range of wireless transceivers operating in the 25-3000 MHz range. The emulator can be used alone or in combination with other instruments to test RF communications for cellular and PCS systems, mobile radio, audio/video broadcast, antenna array systems, wireless LAN, wireless local loop (WLL), cable modem, and cordless telephones.
