VSS for Radar Systems allows detailed behavioral modeling of the RF and signal processing of a radar system, together with 3D antenna patterns derived from synthesis or measurement. Links to MATLAB and LabVIEW provide for custom signal processing algorthms. Links to instruments like NI’s PXI, R&S’s and Anritsu’s VSG/ VNAs allow a real DUT to be incorporated into the simulation, capture real world signals, or synthesize an impaired signal from a point in the simulated system. VSS for Radar Systems can be classified as ground-based, airborne, space borne or ship-based. They can also be classified by frequency band, antenna or waveform type. Functionality varies from tracking to early warning, and to over the horizon and more.
