Quectel Introduces The RG660QA And RG660QB 5G Modules With Advanced Performance Features
Las Vegas, NV ( BUSINESS WIRE ) - Quectel Wireless Solutions, a global provider of comprehensive Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, today announced the launch of the RG660QA and RG660QB 5G modules, which utilize the Qualcomm® X85 and X82 5G RF modem systems, respectively. Engineering samples of the first two part numbers in the RG660Qx series are now available to customers, and pre-production samples will be released to the market in the second quarter of 2026.
This series of modules was designed for versatility and supports a wide range of next-generation 5G applications, from home and business wireless broadband to mobile video, camera applications, and high-performance mobile hotspots. In indoor 5G CPE, it delivers superior performance by enabling Wi-Fi 7 across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands, with integrated Bluetooth to create a truly complete ecosystem of connected devices. With Ethernet speeds up to 10 Gbps, the RG660Qx provides the high-capacity backbone needed to power ultra-fast and reliable home and business networks. Furthermore, the RG660Qx supports Power Class 1, enabling extended coverage and improved performance robustness for fixed wireless access deployments.

Furthermore, both modules can work in combination with dedicated high-performance coprocessors to deliver 24 TOPS and handle complex computing workloads on the device.
The RG660QA and RG660QB were designed to deliver exceptional downlink performance, supporting advanced multi-antenna reception with configurations up to DL 8Rx and DL 6Rx respectively, while also improving uplink performance. This enhanced reception capability allows for increased data throughput, improved signal quality, and greater connectivity reliability, especially in challenging network environments or high-mobility situations. By leveraging advanced MIMO configurations, the modules ensure robust, high-speed performance for next-generation 5G applications, particularly fixed wireless access, enterprise networks, and high-capacity mobile broadband.
Designed for high-speed 5G applications, both modules ensure greater flexibility with optional satellite connectivity thanks to their narrowband non-terrestrial network (NB NTN) capability. The RG660QA supports dual SIM standby (DSDS) and dual SIM active (DSDA), allowing devices to operate with one SIM at a time or two SIMs simultaneously for calls and data.
To facilitate upgrades and simplify device design, the module is pin-to-pin compatible with Quectel's RG650x series modules. The RG660QA and RG660QB modules utilize the same recommended Wi-Fi and physical layer chipsets as the RG650x series, thus helping customers streamline procurement and optimize supply chain efficiency.
The RG660Qx module will come with a range of compatible antennas, to streamline and improve the efficiency of faster development and shorten time to market.
