Planar Monolithics Separates From American Microwave, Acquires Amplifier Supplier HARI
Raymond Sicotte, chairman and CEO of American Microwave Corporation (AMC), and Ashok Gorwara, chairman, president, and CEO of Planar Monolithics Industries (PMI), announced that they have completed realignment and separation of AMC and PMI.Sicotte and Gorwara were formally colleagues at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in the late 1960s. Each is very well recognized for his extensive expertise in the microwave electronics field and industry.
Each company has developed its own complete manufacturing, engineering, R&D capabilities, and facilities as the individual companies have grown and prospered. This realignment allows each company to operate independently, further expand their product lines and maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace.
PMI Acquires HARI LLC
On April 30, 2013, PMIacquired 100% of all the assets and property of amplifier component supplier HARI LLC (www.harillc.com), which formerly operated as Genesis Microwave (www.genesismicrowave.com). These assets include all the test and manufacturing equipment and machinery, designs, documentation, drawings, and intellectual property.
HARI is a leading provider of logarithmic amplifier components to many U.S. and international defense prime contractors. These specialized amplifier products are used in early warning radars, threat detection equipment, electronic countermeasures, and missile guidance system. HARI also provides microwave and millimeter-wave components and subsystems for several other advanced defense electronics platforms.
All the RF/microwave products, components, subsystems, etc. being designed, manufactured, serviced and produced by HARI, will now be offered, provided, produced, manufactured, and serviced by PMI at its West Coast Facilities Operations in El Dorado Hills, CA.
