Paramount Petroleum, Imperial Petroleum Recovery Contract Completed
Imperial Petroleum Recovery Corp. (IPRC; Houston) has completed a contract with Paramount Petroleum using its West Coast-based Microwave Separation Technology (MST)-1000 Unit. The contract was used to process material that ranged from high water/low oil content to high oil, heavy emulsified, and low water material. The finished products included recovered water, recovered oil, and solids that will be used in the manufacturing of asphalt. Imperial Petroleum Recovery has been asked to prepare a proposal for adding a permanent unit to the Paramount Petroleum site.
The Microwave Separation Treatment (MST) System, a proprietary process currently being patented by Imperial Petroleum Recovery, uses radio frequencies (RF) to break the bonds linking water and hydrocarbons in oil emulsions. The MST System provides greater benefits for separating the oil emulsions at less cost than competing systems. IPRC also operates one of the few microwave laboratories for analyzing the capabilities of its technology and has tested samples from all over the world.
