Nordic Semiconductor Appoints SC Cubed As Distributor In Southern California
SC Cubed will be tasked with further promoting Nordic's ultra low power (ULP) 2.4 GHz wireless technology in the region, and will work alongside Nordic Semiconductor's two existing local US distributors – Symmetry Electronics and Nu Horizons – in addition to Nordic's existing US regional sales manager John Leonard (based in San Jose, California, tel: +1 408 605 9307), and US key accounts sales manager – Morten Staale.
SC Cubed is an 28-year old high technology specialist that is expert at targeting the many leading US electronics giants clustered around the Southern Californian region.
The company takes full responsibility for the entire design-in cycle and will often track design win projects offshore to manufacturing hubs like Asia as they reach maturity. "You don't just sell a ULP RF transceiver to a tier one US electronics company by telling them it's the world best part and walking away," says Chris Skipworth, the Nordic account manager at SC Cubed.
"You have to prove it – often via in-depth technical trials – and that includes having the technical expertise to fast track customers through any of the inevitable but routine technical design queries and issues that may arise along the way. That's why the vast majority of our sales people are trained engineers who genuinely understand how the technology they are promoting and supporting works. As SC Cubed's success to date proves, this is very important in the US electronics design market. If you can't walk your talk technically, nobody will want to know you in California no matter how good your sales patter – you'll just be a fake."
Skipworth estimates that up to 1-in-4 (25%) of US design decisions relevant to ULP wireless are made in and around Southern California, due to the unusually high concentration of top US electronics companies located there. "What's more, I know that the companies SC Cubed has been working alongside for many years will truly benefit from specifying Nordic's ULP technology into their products," he continues. "In fact they will need Nordic's ULP technology to remain competitive and continue to differentiate their products."
"We are absolutely delighted to have SC Cubed on board," comments Nordic Semiconductor's CEO, Svenn-Tore Larsen. "I have personally known Chris Skipworth for 15 years and that's why we have every confidence that he and SC Cubed are an excellent strategic partner for Nordic Semiconductor that will help the company to further expand the scale of its operations within the US within a relatively short space of time."
