MXP Multicoax Cable Assemblies Datasheet

Source: HUBER+SUHNER

The HUBER+SUHNER MXP Multicoax Cable Assemblies are high-performance interconnect solutions designed for demanding high-frequency applications.

These assemblies are based on HUBER+SUHNER’s patented MXP interface (US Patent 8,360,807) and utilize the company's ultra-stable, flexible Multiflex 53-02 microwave cable. Offered in MXP18, MXP40, and MXP50 variants, these products support maximum frequencies of 18 GHz, 40 GHz, and 50 GHz respectively. Each variant provides consistent 50-ohm impedance, excellent return loss (≥20 dB up to 22.5 GHz), and standard phase matching of ±2 ps, ensuring signal integrity across dense, high-speed channels.

Available in 1x8 and 2x8 ganged configurations, the MXP assemblies are compact with a 4.0 mm pitch and offer multiple breakout options including SMA, Suhner-K, and PC 2.4 connectors, depending on the frequency rating. They are RoHS and REACH compliant, rated for 500 mating cycles, and operate within a temperature range of -55°C to +85°C. Key materials include copper beryllium contacts with SUCOPRO gold plating and PTFE isolators for low-loss performance. The MXP50 also includes jumper, loopback, and board-to-board options, providing flexible deployment in test and system environments.

Overall, HUBER+SUHNER’s MXP multicoax solutions are ideal for high-density, high-frequency PCB-to-instrument or inter-PCB connections in applications such as test systems, high-speed digital testing, and telecommunications infrastructure, offering precision, durability, and reliability in a compact footprint.
