Murata Introduces Parallel Operation DC-DC Converters
In addition to its compact surface mount device (SMD) package, parallel operation (PO), high efficiency and reliability characteristics, the Murata MPD6D20*S also provides numerous other benefits for design engineers. For example, start-up times can be easily synchronized with other module(s) by connecting the devices' PO pins. Additionally, integrated input and output capacitors and EMI filtering circuits eliminate EMI noise issues as well as the need for external components. Also, utilizing a planar transformer via the multi-layer printed circuit board, the converter offers thin and stable coil quality. Murata's new converter also comes with a remote on/off switching and alarm signal output features.
"Murata's use of highly developed circuit design techniques, vertical integration and advanced ceramic and ferrite materials ensures the most sophisticated DC-DC converter solutions," said Bill Kutsche, group product manager of module products for Murata Electronics North America. "Further, all of our DC-DC converters are manufactured entirely in-house at multiple manufacturing locations which enables consistent and reliable lead-times and redundant manufacturing capacity."
