Multicarrier Power Amplifier

WiseBand Communications Ltd.00 is a fully DSP-based, ultralinear, multicarrier power amplifier (MCPA) for PCS networks. It is a 40-W MCPA, which supports CDMA, TDMA, and GSM in the 1930 MHz-1990 MHz frequency band. Configurations of as many as four modules enable operators to deploy scalable, redundant high-power solutions with great efficiency (higher than 10%). The product handles any number of input signals and is ideal for both micro and macro-cell applications.

Like the WISE-800, which is already in use by CDMA, TDMA, and AMPS operators for the cellular band, WISE-1900 is based on an adaptive digital linearizer core (ADLC) design that provides high performance and reliability in dynamic signal environments. ADLC is, a proprietary, patent-pending DSP technology for the feed-forward architecture, and it powers all WiseBand amplifiers. The product uses a DSP algorithm to continuously correct RF distortion, thus relaxing the tight requirements normally imposed on RF hardware design and virtually eliminating labor intensive and costly tuning. This also ensures optimal operation of the amplifier throughout its life in the field, enhancing field reliability while significantly lowering operating and maintenance costs. Additional frequency bands and standards such as UMTS (3G) will soon follow.
