MILCOM 2008 To Feature Distinguished Speakers From Military, Industry, And Academia

San Diego -- A roster of distinguished speakers from military, industry and academia will offer insight into technology and interoperability solutions at MILCOM 2008, Nov. 17-19, at the San Diego Convention Center.

Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) will host the 27th annual gathering, where more than 6,000 government and industry attendees from 30 countries are expected to focus on the theme, "Assuring Mission Success."

MILCOM 2008, the premier military communications conference, will draw almost 300 technology exhibitors, the most in the history of this event. Those who wish to attend can still register at http://www.milcom.org.

"This year's conference offers a line-up of military, civil agency and industry leaders discussing the pressing communications interoperability issues of the 21st century," said Jerry Powlen, Raytheon vice president of Integrated Communications Systems and executive chairman of MILCOM 2008.

Keynote and luncheon speakers for the conference include John Grimes, assistant secretary of Defense for Networks and Information Integration and Department of Defense chief information officer; Michael McConnell, director of National Intelligence; Air Force Gen. Victor E. Renuart Jr., commander of North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command; and Navy Adm. James G. Stavridis, commander of the U.S. Southern Command.

More than 600 papers will be presented in classified and unclassified sessions. Prominent topics include the latest advances in network architecture, management, modeling and protocols; software defined and cognitive radios; antenna technologies and architectures; and computer and network security.

MILCOM is co-sponsored by AFCEA (Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association) International and IEEE (the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Communications Society.
