80 - 1000 MHz 200 Watts Linear Power RF Amplifier: Model 5225 Datasheet

Source: OPHIR RF

The Ophir RF Model 5225 is a solid-state, broadband, high-power linear RF amplifier operating across a frequency range of 80 to 1000 MHz.

It delivers 200 watts of saturated output power and is engineered using Class A linear power devices to ensure exceptional third-order intercept performance, high gain, and a broad dynamic range. This amplifier is designed to provide high efficiency and long-term reliability, with a minimum small signal gain of 54 dB and a gain flatness of ±2.5 dB. It operates with various RF signal formats, including CW, AM, FM, PM, and pulse.

The Model 5225 includes comprehensive protection features such as thermal overload, overcurrent, overvoltage, and protection against any VSWR condition (open, short, any phase). It also supports forward and reflected power monitoring, gain control over a 25 dB dynamic range, automatic level control, and full fault status monitoring. Communication interfaces include Ethernet, RS-232, and IEEE-488, supporting both local and remote control.

The amplifier is compact for its power class, measuring 19" x 5.25" x 21" and weighing 55 lbs. It uses forced air cooling and Type-N RF connectors. Environmentally, it supports operation from 0°C to +50°C, up to 10,000 feet in altitude, and in 95% non-condensing humidity. It is available in models with front or rear RF connectors and full front panel control.

The Model 5225 is ideal for applications in EMC testing, communications, military systems, and laboratory use where reliable, high-power RF performance is critical. It is backed by Ophir RF’s multiyear warranty and customer support commitment.
