Merrimac to Acquire Filtran Microcircuits
Component, module, and subsystem manufacturer Merrimac Industries has entered into a stock purchase agreement to acquire Filtran Microcircuits of Ottawa, ON, Canada. Under the agreement, Merrimac will acquire the microwave microcircuitry manufacturer for approximately $4.7 million
Merrimac expects to complete the transaction in January. Once completed, Filtran will continue to operate as a separate organization. Craig Sutton, Filtran's current president and CEO, will continue to run Filtran's operations.
Filtran produces microstrip, bonded stripline, and thick metal-backed Teflon circuits for satellite, aerospace, telecommunications, automotive, navigation, defense applications worldwide.
Located in West Caldwell, NJ, Merrimac has approximately 160 employees. The company designs and manufactures signal processing components, multifunction modules, and subsystems for the communications, defense, and aerospace markets.
