M/A-COM Announces Low Phase Noise, Phase Locked Oscillator
Designed for High Reliability Applications Demanding Low Phase Noise and Robust Construction
Lowell, MA -- Cobham recently announced the MASYML0007, a low phase noise, phase locked oscillator for high reliability applications requiring excellent phase noise performance. M/A-COM's MASYML0007 is ideal for demanding applications that require the ultimate in low phase noise and robust construction, including communications terminals, surveillance radar exciters, airborne transponders and fire control radar.
The MASYML0007 features extremely low phase noise, delivered through a proprietary ceramic resonator oscillator circuit. This new technique can provide performance that in the past has only been achievable with a surface acoustic wave (SAW) oscillator, without the long lead times and development costs associated with those designs. Additionally, the MASYML0007 is designed for fixed frequency applications at 1600 MHz; derivative designs are available for additional frequencies ranging from 1000 to 3000 MHz. All of this capability is delivered with a high degree of reliability and hermetic packaging. The module comes complete in a flange-mounted metal package for easy integration into existing hardware. Frequency control is handled internally within the device using a customized micro-controller.
