LTX-Credence Announces Unisem's Selection Of X-Series For RF Test

Unisem to Offer X-Series Production Test and Engineering Development Services At Sunnyvale Test Facility

Milpitas, CA (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LTX-Credence Corporation (Nasdaq:LTXC), a global provider of focused, cost-optimized ATE solutions, today announced that Unisem, a global provider of semiconductor assembly and test services, has selected the X-Series for volume production testing of a wide range of RF devices including power amplifiers, transceivers, and integrated RF SOC devices. Unisem will also provide test development services on the X-Series in their Sunnyvale, CA test facility. Unisem's test services facility in Sunnyvale provides a full range of test, engineering and other test-related services. This 22,000-square-foot facility operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and serves as Unisem's North American test hub providing expertise in test program development, wafer probe, final test and backend services.

"After an extensive review of the various RF test platforms we chose the X-Series. As a test services provider, it is key that we offer test solutions that not only meet the demands of engineering characterization but can also be configured to offer the lowest cost in production test. In the RF market space meeting these two criteria is even more demanding due to the diversity of RF-enabled devices. A RF test solution has to be equally cost effective for power amplifiers, transceivers, front end modules and switches, and RF SiP/SoC devices. The MX platform enables us to meet these demands," said Marita Erickson, general manager of Unisem Group's Sunnyvale test facility. "In addition, the X-Series has strong acceptance as a leader in the RF test market and we see the MX as the de facto standard for fabless companies looking to achieve quality test with fast test program development."

"We are especially excited that Unisem will be offering their customers access to the MX and test development services at their test operation in Sunnyvale," said Bruce MacDonald, vice president of marketing at LTX-Credence. "Our goal is to provide our customers cost-optimized solutions that take advantage of the architecture of the test system, the built-in software functions specifically designed for RF test and our world-class RF applications engineering team. Unisem's Sunnyvale test floor will provide a great opportunity for more customers to see the advantages of the X-Series as a low cost production solution."
