Phoenix, Ariz. -- Lansdale Semiconductor, Inc. president, R. Dale Lillard, announced today the continued availability of the ML3356, a Wideband FSK Receiver. The ML3356 device can be used for single and double conversion VHF receiver systems, primarily for FSK data transmission up to 500 K baud (250 kHz).  It contains an Oscillator, Mixer, Limiting IF, Quadrature Detector, Signal Strength Meter Drive, Squelch, Squelch Status output and Data Shaping Amplifier. The Oscillator is a common base Colpitts type which can be Crystal controlled, or L–C controlled adding to design flexibility.

The ML3356 is designed for use in digital data communications equipment, but lends itself for other applications i.e. Wireless data transmission, Wireless speakers, Security systems, Remote meter reading instruments, CHU shortwave time signals, Emergency alert system receiver, Amateur radio, Radio controls, Remote sensing systems, RFID etc.

The ML3356 was originally designed and built by Motorola/Freescale Semiconductor, Inc.  Lansdale has single-source rights to both globally market and continue to manufacture Motorola’s line of FM IF Circuits designed for FM dual conversion communication equipment.  These circuits are continued supporting present customers and can be used for new designs.  The ML3356 is available in dual-in-line and surface mount packaging.

Lansdale’s exclusive product life cycle management system is a quality control system that guarantees form, fit, and function equal to the original manufacturer’s design specifications.  The Lansdale model has become increasingly important as the growth of the counterfeit industry has increased the problem of maintaining a reliable source of components for long-life systems.  “With counterfeit electronic components becoming more of a global industry nightmare, Lansdale’s 30 plus years of product life cycle management, support and manufacturing using only the OEM’s original tooling has become even more critical in today’s market” stated Lillard.  This assures a continuous source of high performance IC’s to the worldwide electronics market.
