L-Band Frequency Synthesizer From Z-Communications Eliminates External Programming

San Diego -- Z-Communications, Inc. introduced a new addition to its SMART Synthesizer series, which eliminates external programming. The new product, SFS1680A-LF, is a new class of synthesizer for high quality, fixed frequency stable signal source. The smart design takes care of locking each time the circuit is switched on or each time it looses lock due to external factors. The design includes features like lock detect. SFS1680A-LF delivers clean stable signal with reference spurious suppression better than - 80 dBc and phase noise of -106dBc/Hz at 10KHz offset. SFS1680A-LF is designed to provide stable signal source at 1680 MHz. This product is lead free and RoHS compliant. DC supply requirements are 5V @ 31mA for the oscillator and 3V @ 9mA for the synthesizer chip.

Smart synthesizers measure 0.60in. X 0.60 in. The low height shield is another feature of this smart synthesizer which is suitable for automated surface mount assembly and reflows; this is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements. Typical applications include microwave radio and satellite communications.
