L-3 Communications to Acquire Aydin

Communications systems supplier L-3 Communications has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Horsham, PA-based Aydin Corp. for $13.50 per share in cash for a total of $72.3 million, before reductions for cash on hand of approximately $11.3 million at the end of February and planned asset sales. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 1999.
