KRYTAR Announces Expansion Of Family Of Directional Couplers With New, Compact, Ultra-Broadband Model Covering 1.0 GHz To 65.0 GHz

KRYTAR, Inc., a leader in the design and production of ultra-broadband microwave components and test equipment announces the expansion of its line of directional couplers with the addition of a new model offering high performance over the ultra-broadband frequency range of 1.0 to 65.0 GHz, in a single, compact and lightweight package.

KRYTAR’s new directional coupler expands its family of superior performance products offering ultra-broadband coverage in compact packages. KRYTAR’s Model 101065013 is a multi-purpose, stripline design that exhibits excellent coupling over the 1.0 to 65.0 GHz frequency band. Targeting broadband electronic warfare (EW) systems and commercial wireless system applications, for example, KRYTAR’s directional coupler is extremely valuable in a wide array of applications including signal monitoring and measurement, antenna beam forming, cable distributed systems, and military and EMC testing environments. The compact size, makes this directional coupler the perfect solution in many space-restricted applications.

KRYTAR’s technological advances has extended the frequency range of this single unit from 1.0 to 65.0 GHz with Coupling (with respect to output) of 13 dB ±1.0 dB, Frequency Sensitivity of ±1.0 dB  (1.0 to 30.0 GHz) and ±2.0 dB  (30.0 to 65.0 GHz). Directivity is specifications are of >15 dB (1.0 to 20.0 GHz), >10 dB (20.0 to 30.0 GHz), and >7.2 dB (30.0 to 65.0 GHz). The directional coupler exhibits Insertion Loss (including coupled power) of less than 3.5 dB across the frequency range of 1.0 to 65 GHz. Maximum VSWR (any port) is 1.2 (10 to 30.0 GHz) and 1.9 (30.0 to 65.0 GHz), Input Power Rating is 20 W average and 3 kW peak.

Model 101065013 is a compact package measuring 2.5 inches (L) x 0.50 inches (W) x 0.65 inches (H), weighs only 1.9 ounces and comes with standard 1.85-mm SMA female connectors. Operating temperature is -54° to 85° C. This directional stripline coupler can be manufactured to meet military specifications.
