Founded by Thomas J. Russell in 1975, KRYTAR is a privately owned California corporation specializing in the manufacture of UltraBroadband mmWave, Microwave, and RF components and test equipment for both commercial and military wireless communications, radar, space, and thermal vacuum applications. The product line covers the DC to 110 GHz frequency range and includes directional couplers, directional detectors, 3 dB hybrids, MLDD power dividers, detectors, terminations, coaxial adapters, bias tees, Butler matrices, Butlers with phase shift, and monopulse comparators.

KRYTAR also offers a wide selection of components for quantum and cryogenic designs, using materials optimized for extreme cold temperature operating environments. Our products are well known for meeting the tightest specifications without compromise.

The broadband design expertise at KRYTAR has created unique new designs, several of which are patented. KRYTAR has applied these designs to consistently introduce technologically advanced products with superior electrical performance and ruggedness. In 2006, Thomas J. Russell was named one of the industry’s top 10 Microwave Legends for his work in engineering.

KRYTAR products are designed and manufactured in the U.S. in their state-of-the-art facility located in the heart of Silicon Valley’s technology center. KRYTAR’s strict adherence to “Guaranteed Specifications” differentiates the company from others who rely on “Typical Specs.” KRYTAR delivers consistently better-than-expected results, reinforcing our reputation for quality.

The modern facility houses a fully equipped machine shop, including CNC lathes and mills. The corporation also possesses all the electronic test equipment necessary for testing its products from DC to 110 GHz.

The KRYTAR Quality Assurance Program is in accordance with MIL-I-45208, including a calibration system per MIL-STD-45662. KRYTAR microwave components are manufactured in full compliance with the EU RoHS-6 Environmental Requirements. To ensure reliability and performance, the quality assurance system controls all phases of manufacturing: purchasing, machining, processes, assembling, testing, and shipping.

Products manufactured for space and thermal vacuum applications undergo additional reliability and quality assurance inspections during all phases of assembly, electrical evaluation, and shock/vibration testing. Parts, materials, and processes are fully traceable from subordinate to top-level assemblies.

Whether perfecting wireless networks, satellite communications (SATCOM), advancing defense systems, or exploring space, KRYTAR delivers off-the-shelf and custom solutions designed to meet specific needs with unparalleled precision, quality, and reliability.

KRYTAR’s 50th anniversary serves as an opportunity to celebrate its history and long-standing customer relationships. The company is grateful for our client’s trust over the years, which has been built on KRYTAR’s consistent ability to meet challenges and deliver reliable results. These principles form the basis for the steady growth that has earned KRYTAR an enviable reputation in the RF/microwave community.
