KRYTAR Announces Two (2) New Directional Coupler Operating From 7 To 24 GHz

KRYTAR, Inc., a leader in the design and production of ultra-broadband microwave components and test equipment announces two (2) new Directional Couplers operating in the wideband frequency range of 7 to 24 GHz (C- thru K-Bands). The directional couplers are designed for systems applications where external leveling, precise monitoring, signal mixing or swept transmission and reflection measurements are required. The new directional couplers are uniquely suited for the emerging mmWave and 6G markets.

KRYTAR’s newest additions, Model 107024010 and Model 107024020, enhance the selection of multi-purpose, stripline designs that exhibit excellent coupling over the wideband frequency range of 7 to 24 GHz (C- thru K-Bands) in single, compact and lightweight packages.

Model 107024010 electrical specifications include: Nominal Coupling (with respect to output) of 10 dB, ±0.5 dB, and Frequency Sensitivity of ±0.3 dB. The directional coupler exhibits Insertion Loss (including coupled power) of <1.2 dB, Directivity of >13 dB, Maximum VSWR (any port) is 1.4.

Model 107024020 electrical specifications include: Nominal Coupling (with respect to output) of 20 dB, ±1.0 dB, and Frequency Sensitivity of ±0.3 dB. The directional coupler exhibits Insertion Loss (including coupled power) of <0.8 dB, Directivity of >14 dB, Maximum VSWR (any port) is 1.4.

Both models offer Input Power Rating of 20 W average and 3 kW peak. The directional couplers come with industry-standard 3.5mm Female connectors with 3.5mm Male connector options. Each compact package measures just 1.12 inches (L) x 0.53 inches (W) x 0.64 inches (H) and weigh only 1.1 ounces. Operating temperature is -54° to +85° C.

KRYTAR also offers complete engineering services for custom designs that meet or exceed critical performance and/or packaging specifications.

KRYTAR Directional Couplers are uniquely designed for systems applications where external leveling, precise monitoring, signal mixing or swept transmission and reflection measurements are required. The KRYTAR line of directional couplers offer excellent solutions for many broadband applications including electronic warfare (EW), mmWave, 6G, 5G NR (New Radio), Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E, SATCOM, radar, MIMO (Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output) radio links, signal monitoring and measurement, antenna beamforming, and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing environments. This ultra-wideband directional coupler can also be manufactured to meet rigid military specifications.
