At RF Globalnet, we’re committed to providing interesting stories, actionable information, and, when appropriate, breaking news. With this mission in mind, we turned our team loose on the IMS2025 show floor to talk with our partners exhibiting there, and are sharing those conversations with you. Today, we are passing along five of those videos to you in our first daily show newsletter, covering topics ranging from switch bank filters to RF cables for space flight.
For starters, Niki Mobtaker, an Application Engineer at Marki Microwave (Booth #1743), discusses the company’s 2-18 GHz channelized receiver, as well as some new products the company has on the horizon. Niki has been with Marki Microwave for just under one year and recently presented a webinar about advanced techniques that dramatically enhance an amplifier’s performance across broadband microwave applications. Before joining Marki, Niki was a Research Assistant at the Santa Cruz Institute for Particle Physics for just under three years prior.
Next up, Knowles Precision Devices’ (Booth #1059) Pierre Nadeau, Director of RF Engineering, fills you in on what you need to know about switch bank filters and their uses. Pierre has been with Knowles for six-and-a-half years, where he specializes in power systems, RF and microwave signals, VLSI, semiconductors, digital and analog circuits, and microstrip and stripline circuit design.
Jim Alexander, an RF Applications Engineer at Samtech (Booth #1453) and the company’s go-to expert for military and aerospace connector solutions, explores ways to overcome application challenges. Jim has represented Samtech in various public forums, including trade shows and technical podcasts, sharing his insights on RF interconnect design challenges and solutions.
MegaPhase’s (Booth #1827) Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Maddiel Gonzalez, along with Director of Sales & Marketing Rachel Cartalemi, tell you what you need to know when selecting RF cables for space flight. Maddiel joined MegaPhase in 2017 and is the key designer of state-of-the-art RF connectors and cables for space, military, and commercial applications. He is also involved in applications engineering, program development, and new products based on customer needs or market trends. Rachel joined MegaPhase in 2008 and worked in various administrative roles, and was later recognized for her sales and marketing skills. She served as Marketing Manager, International Sales Manager, and Business Development Director prior to her current role.
Our penultimate video features Tudor Williams, CTO of Filtronic, discussing the SatCom industry shift to higher frequency bands. Tudor has been with Filtronic for almost four years and was named CTO in June 2024. He’s responsible for leading and developing Filtronics' technical strategy and roadmaps, securing grant funding (ESA, DASA, IUK, etc.), and building industrial and academic partnerships and collaborations.
Finally, Suma Kapilavai, Product Line Manager/Marketing Manager at Qorvo (Booth #543), looks at what is being done – and what still needs to be done – to advance 5G infrastructure. Suma has been in this position for seven years and is responsible for growth, strategy, and product development for the 5G product line. As the marketing manager, Suma is responsible for creating collateral, sales engagement and training, channel marketing, and industry engagement.
We hope you find these conversations helpful and invite you to stop by Booth #1236 to let us know what you think, share your thoughts on the state of the industry, or simply say hello!
