Impinj, Inc. is a fabless semiconductor company that develops CMOS integrated circuit products for communication systems. Our exclusive technology, uses fundamentally new tunable transistors that enable precision analog and RF in low cost, digital CMOS. Impinj's breakthrough provides a true competitive advantage, enabling mixed-signal System-On-Chip (SOC) products.

Our founders, Dr. Carver Mead and Dr. Chris Diorio, pioneered and hold 14 patents on this new technology. Dr. Mead has founded more than twenty companies in his professional career. Gordon Moore, Chairman Emeritus of Intel Corporation said "Carver has demonstrated a unique ability to identify areas of developing importance in electronics and to jump in at the right time to accelerate progress".

Impinj was founded April 2000 and is located in Seattle near the University of Washington campus. In September 2000 $15 Million in funding was raised from Arch Venture Partners and from Madrona Venture Group.
