IFR Launches Digital Radio Basics Seminar in March 2002
WICHITA, Kan., Feb 12, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- IFR Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:IFRS) today announced that it will present free seminars across the United States featuring the latest information on digital standards for Private Mobile Radio (PMR). IFR, the leader in PMR test solutions, will present "Digital Radio Basics for Private Mobile Radio Applications" in 12 cities in the United States from March 4 - 21, 2002.
Designed as a starting point for organizations that are migrating from analog-based PMR communications systems such as AMPS and EDACS to digital modulation systems, IFR's seminar will provide participants with a basic understanding of the technology, using the Project 25 digital PMR technology as an example. Project 25 is a joint effort by federal, state and local governments to create standards that guarantee system interoperability among agencies for public safety purposes. Used by emergency response and federal agencies, P25's goal is to minimize the delay of critical life-saving services due to incompatibility between communication systems.
The seminar will also include an overview of key measurements required to ensure optimum system performance.
