Hittite Launches 4 To 8 GHz Wideband SMT MMIC VCO

Chelmsford, MA -- Hittite Microwave Corporation has introduced a new SMT Wideband GaAs HBT MMIC Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) which is suited for telecom, industrial/medical, military, and test equipment applications from 4 to 8 GHz.

The HMC586LC4B is a wideband GaAs InGaP HBT MMIC VCO which incorporates the resonator, negative resistance device, and varactor diode. This fully integrated MMIC VCO offers a wide output frequency tuning range of 4 to 8 GHz, with +5 dBm output power and low SSB Phase Noise of -100 dBc/Hz @ 100 kHz offset.

The HMC586LC4B is pin for pin compatible with the previously introduced HMC587LC4B 5 to 10 GHz VCO, and the HMC588LC4B 8 to 12.5 GHz VCO. These wideband VCOs operate from a single +5V supply, and are housed in RoHS compliant 4x4mm SMT packages.

Samples and evaluation PC boards for all SMT packaged products are available from stock.
