High-Reliability RF-Over-Fiber Redundancy For Satellite Transmission
RF Design’s RF-over-Fiber redundancy system provides mission-critical reliability for satellite uplinks and downlinks. The FiberLinkplus 1:1 system distributes RF signals (10 MHz–3.2 GHz) via fiber optics to two geographically separated backup sites, ensuring minimal signal degradation across long distances.
Designed for high availability, the system features automatic and manual switchover capabilities, enabling seamless transitions between main and backup paths. Hot-swappable transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) modules allow on-the-fly maintenance without service interruption. Adjustable gain control ensures optimal signal strength and integrity.
Integrated monitoring—local and remote—covers power supply status, link performance, and overall system health. Dual redundant power supplies (available in 1RU/19" and 4U/19" chassis) further enhance system uptime and fault tolerance.
In the event of failure or environmental interference, redundancy logic instantly activates backup links, preventing signal loss. This design is ideal for broadcasters, teleport operators, and satellite service providers who demand 24/7 continuity.
