Globecomm Wins Two Contract Worth $1.7 Million

Satellite earth station and network supplier Globecomm Systems Inc. (Hauppauge, NY) has won two contracts worth about $1.7 million.

The first contract is to provide a direct broadcast system for a new direct-to-home (DTH) television satellite uplink terminal in the Middle East. Under the terms of the contract, the company will design and install a satellite earth station that incorporates a 9.3-meter Ku-band main antenna system and a 4.8-meter Ku-band back-up antenna system.

Under the second contract, Globecomm will provide Adell Broadcasting Co. with the upgrade of their WADL-TV38 satellite earth station in Southfield, MI. Globecomm will also upgrade the station's 9.3-meter antenna system, which will enable the station to uplink analog and digital video service.
