Giga-tronics Introduces Signal Generator For RFIC Testing And Antenna Characterization

San Francisco -- IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium -- Giga-tronics Incorporated introduces the Panther 2500 series signal generators that offer offset phase noise performance at switching speeds of <500 µS over the entire band of operation.

Utilizing Giga-tronics' new Advanced Synthesizer Technology that provides ultra-low phase noise of -111 dBc @ 10 KHz and 100 KHz offset on a 10 GHz carrier frequency, the new signal generator meets the stringent requirements of high resolution radar testing, RF & microwave components and subsystem testing, and LO substitution. The frequency and level switching speeds of the new Panther series make it suitable for applications such as RFIC testing, antenna characterization and for manufacturing applications where throughput is critical.

In addition, the 2500 series signal generator features high leveled output power exceeding +20 dBm to 20 GHz.

"With the introduction of the 2500 series Giga-tronics broadens its synthesizer offering to meet the needs of customers demanding very low phase noise," said John Regazzi, CEO of Giga-tronics. "Our new Advanced Synthesizer technology represents a breakthrough in performance and simplicity and will form the basis of many exciting new products to come", he said.

Giga-tronics will offer the Panther series signal generators in two different configurations designed for bench top and ATE applications covering 100 KHz to 8 GHz, 20 GHz, 26.5 GHz and 40 GHz with frequency resolution of 0.0001 Hz over the entire band.

Giga-tronics will start accepting orders on Panther series signal generators from Sep 1, 2006 with six to eight weeks delivery time.
