Giga-tronics Achieves AS9100 Certification
Giga-tronics announced that Giga-tronics has achieved AS9100 certification, an upgrade of our ISO 9001 Quality Management System. Giga-tronics is now certified as fully capable to be a provider ofproducts and services (including deliverable hardware) that meet more stringent aerospace industry quality system requirements.
AS9100 is the Quality Management System standard for the aerospace industry. The standard includes all ISO 9001:2000 requirements as a base, with numerous enhancements that address aerospace-specific requirements:
- Configuration management
- Quality requirements flow-down to supply chain
- First article inspection
- Significant requirements have been added to design/development, procurement and supplier management, and monitoring/measurement activities

The standard was originally released in 1999 as a result of the work of major US aerospace manufacturers and has since been adopted internationally.
